Youngstown, Ohio – Local artist Mr. Joseph L. Thomas, a 96-year-old Youngstown native, will headline a public art show at Dandridge’s Bugundi Manor on February 24th, 25th, and 26th. Mr. Thomas, an artist for over 80 years, is known for his vivid oil paintings of portraits, landscapes, and still life. The show will also highlight artwork from Martin Luther King Elementary school students as well as paintings created jointly by Dandridge’s residents and Campbell Memorial high school students. The Campbell students have been meeting with Dandridge’s residents biweekly to engage in conversation, game-playing, and art. Students in Campbell’s HPAC (Health Professions Affinity Community) program began researching elderly neglect in the fall and chose to visit the local nursing home to demonstrate the value they place on our community’s elderly. The students will meet with the residents on four occasions throughout the months of January, February, and March.
