Senior Class

This year's soccer season started in early June.  Practices were rough, but with time and discipline we managed to go through our season a winning team.  Striking fear into our opponents hearts was our first priority!  Being the physical team that we are, we accumulated over 20 yellow cards and approximately 5 red cards throughout the whole season.  Our opponents were often very cautious coming into a game with the Red Devils, knowing that the more physical they played, we played 5 times more physical.  Even at practices we beat up on each other just to show that we were that tough.  We even had an article that made front page in the Vindicator's Sports section about our grueling practices.  Making our debut at home against Hubbard (the team that handed us our 1st loss last year after going 6-0) was a very intense game!  So intense that after the game we participated in an all out brawl! We suffered a set back in our line-up because of that brawl, we lost 2 of our starting seniors, 1 of the seniors we lost for 3 games, and the other one for 4 games.  That taught the rest of the team how to go on as a team without some of our most important players.  We struggled through the middle of our season, but proved to every team that we were a very strong team.  We finally came together as a team around the 10th game and dominated almost every game that we played, teams feared us!  We ended the regular season with a blow out win against Mohawk.  We went into the playoffs thinking that we were untouchable.  That proved to be what went wrong in our season.  We faced Maplewood in the first round of the playoffs (a team that we beat 4-2 in the regular season)  it was a very good game that went into double overtime.  With less that 2 minutes left in the last half of overtime the referee's whistle blew calling a penalty kick for Maplewood.  They scored and left us with no time to come back finishing off our 2000 Soccer season.
