Intro-to Industrial Technology Education

Industrial Technology is a curriculum in transition.   As technology evolves to meet the changing needs of society, the education curriculum must react to, or predict, the life requirements of the students it seeks to serve.

As technological development continues at an accelerating rate, it becomes necessary for all people to understand technology in order to function as citizens, consumers, workers, employers and family members.   Industrial technology education should be a part of the learning experiences of all students so they may better appreciate and control their own environments.

Industrial technology education, through its various contents, is able to reinforce the total curriculum by implementing practical applications in science, mathematics, social sciences and language arts.  Industrial technology education also provides meaningful hands-on activities which cause desirable changes in learners. These changes may involve the development of a attitude toward creative thinking and toward character improvement--knowing and making the most of one's environment.
