“Campbell City Schools Announces Business Manager Hire”
Campbell, Ohio- The Campbell City Schools are proud to announce the hiring of Cheryl McArthur as the district’s new Business Manager.
As the district moves forward with the expansion of curriculum and instruction along with ongoing public and private partnerships, it is imperative to have an individual in place that can successfully manage daily operations. Currently, the construction of a 70,000 square foot Community Literacy Workforce and Cultural Center (CLWCC) is underway in the district. This facility, which will be home to Northeastern Ohio IMPACT Academy, a seventh through twelfth-grade STEM School, will also be the hub of the district’s regional impact solution to college and career readiness. McArthur comes to the district with a wealth of experience having worked for the Mahoning County Educational Service Center since 1999.
During her tenure, Mrs. McArthur served in various capacities including the Early Childhood Operations Coordinator, Supervisor of Business Operations, and currently as the Director of Human Resources and Business Operations. She was also the Chief of Human Resources for Youngstown City School District from January 2017 through December 2018. McArthur holds an Ohio Department of Education Business Manager License and is in the process of renewing her ODE Treasurer’s license.
“Mrs. McArthur is exactly what we are looking for in a professional to manage growing daily operations in the district and a new facility,” said Matthew Bowen, Campbell City Schools Superintendent. “The additional space will be heavily requested throughout our region and we needed to invest in the right person”.
In addition, Cheryl is an active member of several professional organizations including the Ohio Association of School Business Officials, Ohio Association of School Personnel Administrators, and Society for Human Resource Management. She also serves on the Ohio School Council’s East Advisory Committee and the Ohio Department of Education Human Capital Advisory Group.
In her personal life, she is an active member of the community. She currently serves as the Board Chair of the YWCA Mahoning Valley, OH WOW! The Roger & Gloria Jones Children’s Center for Science board member, and United Way of Youngstown and Mahoning Valley Impact Committee member.
In her spare time, Mrs. McArthur enjoys cooking, baking, and reading. She and her husband, Robert, enjoy traveling. They reside in Liberty Township.
“I will miss working with my colleagues at the MCESC and the districts it serves,” said Cheryl McArthur. “I welcome this new opportunity, and I look forward to joining the Campbell City School District and the community and greater region it serves”.
Mrs. McArthur will assume her duties on July 1, 2019
