education of its children and families. |
WHAT IS A VIRTUAL REALITY TOUR?
Gives a person the ability to view a building as though they were
walking through and seeing a complete 360 degree view.
HOW DID WE CREATE THIS TOUR?
Initially the students took digital pictures using Kodak DC4800
cameras. At each spot they took 12 pictures in a 360 degree
format. Using PhotoVista Panorama they stitched these 12 pictures
together to create a panoramic view. Then using PhotoVista Virtual
Tour Maker they took all of the stitched jpegs and created hotspots that
made the tours.

HOW DID CAMPBELL CITY SCHOOLS TOUR GET STARTED?
A $150,000 Ohio SchoolNet Raising the Bar High School grant was written by Patsy Bakos, Marge Ford
and Robert Truslow and awarded to the Campbell City Schools for Multi-Media instruction
in the classroom. The grant was used to purchase video equipment such as;
digital video cameras, digital video mixers, audio mixers, character
generators, laptops, non-linear editing workstations and more. This equipment gave the students the
opportunity to learn multi-media production. This also allowed for
the creation of the Campbell Community Television Channel 19 TV station.
One of the conditions of the grant was to create a
virtual reality tour of our existing buildings which include Memorial
High School, Reed Middle School and Penhale Elementary School before
they are torn down. Students in the Multi-Media 1 class started
creating the tour in the fall of 2002.
