Judge Patrick P. Cunning is a lifelong resident of Campbell, Ohio. Following his graduation from Campbell Memorial High School in 1970, he continued his education at Youngstown State University and obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree in 1975 and his Master Degree in 1977. Judge Cunning went on to earn his law degree from the University of Akron in 1983 where he received the Bancroft Whitney award as the top ranked student in Torts.
Judge Cunning has been practicing law for 35 years and is currently affiliated with Scullin & Cunning Co., LLC in Boardman, Ohio, with his son Tim, a 2001 graduate of Memorial High School.
Judge Cunning was first elected to the bench of the Campbell Municipal Court in 2005 upon the retirement of Judge John P. Almasy. He was re-elected again in 2011 and again in 2017. He is an active respected member of the Association of Municipal and County Judges of Ohio (AMCJO). He has served on the Specialized Docket and Traffic Law Committees and was recently selected to be a Trustee of AMCJO.
He is an active member of Christ the Good Shepard Church (St. Lucy) where he serves as a lector. He and his wife of 43 years, Maleen, are the proud parents of four children and loving grandparents to two granddaughters.
Judge Cunning is proud to be a Red Devil and actively supports the academic and athletic programs of our great school district.
