In the story The Talking Eggs, the characters Rose and Blanche are very different. I would describe Blanche as considerate, trustworthy and respectful. In the story, Aunty took Blanche to her farm and asked her not to laugh at what she might see. When they arrived, Blanche saw strange things and she did not laugh because she did not want to hurt Aunty’s feelings. Later in the story, Aunty gave her a beef bone to add to the pot for soup, even though she thought it wouldn’t be enough she did it anyway. Sure enough the pot began to bubble over with thick stew. I also believe Blanche is trustworthy because in the story, Aunty asked her to take the eggs that said ‘take me’, which were plain eggs. She left the golden eggs, even though she wanted them, that said ‘don’t take me’. On her way home she was rewarded with valuable items.

On the other hand, Rose was untrustworthy, disrespectful, selfish and inconsiderate. I believe that Rose is disrespectful because when she arrived to Aunty’s house she laughed and insulted what she saw. She laughed and said ‘That’s the stupidest thing  in the world.” Also, when asked to put the beef bone into the pot she said, “That’s gonna make a mighty poor meal.” That was just what she received. Based on what I read I can also say that she was untrustworthy and selfish. In the story she took all the eggs that said ‘don’t take me’ and left the eggs that Aunty told her she could take. As a result, she was punished with dangerous animals chasing her home. As you can see both characters in this story are very different.
