After graduating from Ohio University in 1990 with a Bachelor's degree in English education, I taught English Language Arts in several districts in the greater Cleveland area, including Garfield Heights City Schools and Mentor Exempted Village School District. During that time, I earned a Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Ashland University. I have over fifteen years of class room experience in secondary education; currently, I teach several English and communications courses at Memorial High School. In addition, I have taught English at Youngstown State University and presently teach the College in High School communications course for Campbell City Schools.
I look forward to the start of each school year and the promise it holds. I am passionate about teaching and learning; I strive to create lessons that are challenging, meaningful, and engaging. My lessons incorporate many contemporary practices intended to target the variety of learning styles, intelligences, and abilities that comprise a typical class setting. I maintain high expectations for every student and hope that each student upholds a personal standard of excellence as well .
