The Community Literacy Workforce and Cultural Center (CLWCC) is focused on building and sustaining a regional economic ecosystem designed to serve both the student population and the broader community by aligning and leveraging resources to improve the education, knowledge, skills and health of Mahoning Valley residents and beyond.
With a planned opening in February, 2020, the CLWCC will provide resources for the whole child, whole family, and whole community. The Center will house the Public Library of Youngstown and Mahoning County, Southwoods Health, Eastern Gateway Community College, Stark State Community College, and the Northeast Ohio IMPACT Academy.
The Center will be a transformative cornerstone for community events, wellness, education and recreation for Campbell and surrounding areas. It will create direct access to healthcare and wrap-around services in the community and region through a shared delivery of services. Collaborating partners will provide wellness and educational opportunities to increase the economic viability of the region. The CLWCC will have a positive and lasting effect on current and future employability levels and per capita income levels for the region. The Mahoning Valley has had a long history of manufacturing as its dominant industry. Through industrial and technological advancements and shifts, this region has begun to diversify and reclaim its foothold in this arena. The CLWCC will provide opportunities for this endeavor.
