Parent Option One: 5 Days Weekly Face-to-Face
Parent Option Two: Full Remote Learning
The District Leadership Team has reviewed the most recent recommendation from the Ohio Department of Education and Department of Health. We reflected heavily on the needs of the students and the voice of the community. Together, after much listening, we are sharing a near final “DRAFT” version of the 2020 – 2021 school calendar which addresses the many concerns the majority of stakeholders have expressed. In the attached document students have two choices, "face-to-face" or "full remote". Those who participate "face-to-face" five days weekly will still have electronic assignments and access to technology to smoothly transition to full remote learning if required by the State.
Additionally, there are provisions for morning and afternoon enrichment for our youngest learner as a solution for working parents. We maximized the students’ day to 5 3/4 hours with consideration for social distancing, small group busing, daily student temperature checks, nutrition, etc. We also know the additional time within the teachers' day is necessary for connecting with the children of parents who choose the remote learning option.
For the safety of all, masks are required on buses and during transitions between classes unless otherwise medically documented. Masks are not required while students are seated in the classroom socially distanced from their peers or teacher.
We may need to make minor adjustments as we move through the school year. We sincerely appreciate all those who have participated in surveys and the planning for our return to school.
