Campbell City Schools Partner with Goodwill Industries

New location will provide retail services, workforce training, and real‑world learning for students

Campbell, Ohio — Campbell City Schools is proud to announce a new partnership and lease agreement with Youngstown Area Goodwill Industries that will bring Goodwill’s newest location to the Campbell Health and Community Development Center (CHCDC). The center is set to open on Aug. 1 on Struthers Coitsville Road.

The CHCDC, made possible through secured grant funding and a strong network of school-based health, workforce development, and community partnerships, is designed to provide vital resources to families across Mahoning County. The addition of Goodwill will include an outdoor donation center and an indoor retail store, expanding access to services and opportunities for the Campbell community and surrounding areas.

This partnership will also create meaningful, real-world learning opportunities for students at Campbell Memorial High School and the Northeast Ohio Impact Academy. Students will assist with store operations and gain hands-on experience in areas such as sales, retail management, marketing, and advertising, experiences that align directly with the district’s commitment to workforce development and career readiness.

Goodwill’s impact extends far beyond retail. Through its mission-driven model, the organization provides job training, employment placement services, and support programs for individuals facing barriers to employment. These services include workforce development programs, skills training, and community-based support designed to help individuals achieve economic independence and long-term success.

With additional partners to be announced in the coming months, the CHCDC represents a transformative investment in the Campbell community. The center will serve local students and families while also standing as a regional model for collaboration, innovation, and shared services.

Superintendent Matthew Bowen shared:

“Campbell is an incredible community that continues to grow through strategic investment and strong partnerships. Our families value education and consistently support our students in overcoming any barriers they may face. This partnership with Goodwill is another example of how we are expanding opportunities and building a stronger future for our students and community.”

Shelley Murray, CEO of Goodwill, added:

“We are honored to partner with Campbell City Schools and become a part of the Campbell Health and Community Development Center. This location allows us to extend our mission by providing access to job training, employment opportunities, and essential community resources. This partnership reflects our broader commitment to working alongside community partners to multiply our impact and create lasting opportunities for individuals and families. Together, we are helping build a stronger future for the Campbell community and the entire region.”
