School Safety
Dear Campbell City Schools Parent/Guardian,
The safety and security of our students and staff is our highest priority. In recent years, school districts across the state and nation have faced serious challenges in maintaining safe learning environments. Unfortunately, our own Mahoning County has not been exempt from these tragic events. Here in the Campbell City Schools, we are committed to doing everything within our power to mitigate risks and ensure the safety of our students and staff.
As part of our ongoing efforts, we will begin employing the use of metal detectors on an intermittent and unannounced basis. While this may seem inconvenient at times, we believe that metal detectors will serve as a significant deterrent against potential tragedy and harm. Metal detectors are routinely utilized in public buildings and courthouses for adult safety and welfare, so why not consider their use for our youngest and most vulnerable population—our students?
Remember, if you notice something, report it. It takes all of us working together to keep our schools safe places for learning.
Thank you for your continued support and cooperation.
Sincerely,
Matthew L. Bowen
